The F-body Chevrolet Camaro has a wide enough fan base outfitting it with all kinds of aftermarket modifications, but you would be hard pressed to find another one as unique as this mid-engined coupe packing nearly 500 horsepower.
The original model sports a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. Centerline Vehicle Designs, which carried out the job, had to replace much of the bodywork and extend the wheelbase in order to move the eight-cylinder block towards the rear end. As a result, the restomod is around 125 mm (5 inches) wider than before, 250 mm (10 inches) longer and has 90 mm (3.5 inches) of extra space between the axles.
Pop up the trunk lid in the back to discover a naturally aspirated 7.5-liter Oldsmobile V8 sitting in front of the rear wheels, producing 493 PS (486 hp / 353 kW) and 689 Nm (508 lb-ft) of torque. A Toronado three-speed automatic still carries the torque to the wheels, and should be just barely enough for the task given the sheer power of the setup.
Inside the cabin, you can find such modern amenities as power windows, a custom audio system and air conditioning. At an auction that ended this weekend, the restomod fetched a nice sum of $88,888.
