1969 Chevrolet Camaro gets restored with a 700-PS Corvette ZR1 engine under the hood

Not long ago, we reported about Kindred Motorworks and its Chevy 3100 pickup electromod lineup. The company actually offers a wide variety of restoration jobs, including this 53-year-old Chevrolet Camaro with a seventh-gen Corvette ZR1 engine under the hood.

The 6.2-liter engine pumps out on the order of 700 horsepower in stock form and comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels through a Torsen auto-locking differential. Should the customer desire so, the transmission will be made automatic. Per-wheel suspension is already included in the base spec.

For deceleration, the restomod relies on Wilwood rotors and calipers all around. The 19-inch wheels in the arches boast an original design, and the tuner takes care to ‘clean up’ the look by stripping the exterior of all small details. The lighting all around becomes LED-based.

Rounding off the impressive project is a cabin draped in a modern leather-Alcantara combo. To name just a few highlights, the seats seen here are Recaro Sportster GT, the steering wheel is a MOMO Mod 08, and the gear lever is an unmistakable Hurst.
