The last 4th-gen Chevy Camaro made fails to find a single interested buyer

Volocars is selling a very special Chevrolet Camaro right now, claimed to be the last fourth-generation example made in Quebec in 2002 before the model went out of production for eight years. With 43 km (27 miles) under its belt, it is also in pristine condition but has been struggling to find a new owner lately and is now on sale for a low $64k.

Chevrolet had to stop the fourth-gen Camaro production prematurely due to the low demand, which many blamed on the car’s many technical shortcomings. This example allegedly rolled off the line on August 27, 2002, after which the Quebec factory where it was made was shut down and demolished. A shopping mall and a residential complex occupy that place now.

The car on sale is a Z28 spec with a 5.7-liter V8 sending 310 PS (306 hp / 228 kW) to the wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. It also has the optional Targa body style, 16-inch wheels, high-end shock absorbers and springs, enhanced stabilizers and disc brakes in all four corners.

As soon as it was assembled, the Camaro hit a charity auction and went for $70,500, a good deal more than the $23,430 base price. It has since changed multiple owners. Bring-a-Trailer sold it for a low $29,500 in 2019, and it cropped up at a Mecum auction in Chicago in 2022.

The current buy-it-now price is $63,998. It was around $75,000 not long ago, then dropped to $65,998, but no one apparently cared.
