Barrett-Jackson has recently sold a restomod loosely based on a 1970 Chevrolet Camaro. Dubbed Tour de Force, it was carried out by Health Elmer Restorations in the USA with a thoroughly reworked exterior, all-new suspension, a 7.0-liter engine and a more modern cabin. The winning bidder paid $138,600 for the finished car.
The giant engine comes equipped with forged pistons and shafts, as well as an aluminum cylinder head assembly featuring aftermarket valves. It pumps out roughly 600 hp (450 kW) to a Tremec six-speed manual. A Borla exhaust system lends it a juicy soundtrack.
The suspension benefits from coilovers and parts sourced from a C6 Corvette. The wheels are 18 inches large all around and conceal rotor brakes behind the spokes.
Some of the bodywork is carbon-fiber while some components stem from other cars. For example, the door handles were procured from the Buick shelf. Inside, there is a Speedhunt metallic gauge cluster, a Momo steering wheel, and Recaro seats with four-point safety harnesses. The driver gets to enjoy modern climate control, power windows and a hi-end audio system built from Pioneer and Rockford Fosgate components with three subwoofers.
The seller claims the restomod has won multiple show awards. The mileage isn’t mentioned anywhere.
