A mint 1985 Chevrolet Camaro is up for grabs for $100k

A Targa-bodied Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z made in 1985 and never actually driven is on sale in Massachusetts, USA for an asking price of $100,000. It may seem like much, but the car is virtually new with 18 km (11 miles) under its belt.

The original owner asked the dealership where he bought the car to skip the pre-sale preparation. As a result, the Camaro shipped with seat covers, assembly line stickers and chalk marks on the glass still intact. He then proceeded to store it in a trailer.

The next owner retrieved it from said trailer in 2008 with roughly 6 km (4 miles) on the odo. The Camaro proceeded to change hands multiple times, but none of the owners had dared actually drive it. It is now being sold as a time capsule of sorts, with the dealership emphasizing that no discounts will be made – the seller isn’t looking for quick money, and it makes a solid showroom decoration in any case.

Powering this particular car is a five-liter V8 delivering 215 PS (212 hp / 158 kW) to the wheels through a manual transmission. As an IROC-Z edition, it benefits from Bilstein shocks, custom stabilizers and braces in the suspension, as well as a special set of wheels. Even so, it isn’t really considered a rarity: Chevrolet produced around 2,500 such cars in 1985.
