Restoration and modernization of vintage cars is an extremely meditative task that tolerates no disruptive haste. PowerNation TV filmed a short video illustrating this principle.
The team started with a stock 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle. The car had almost everything replaced, starting with the engine and ending with the cabin upholstery. The body received a nice polish and a new paint coating. The most technically challenging part was boosting the engine to around 1,000 horsepower (745 kilowatts).
In the end, the project took almost 2,000 hours to complete. Hit ‘Play’ now to see it all squeezed into an exciting 11-minute video. Towards the end, the car can be shortly seen driven on the Tail of the Dragon Proving Grounds on the border between the U.S. states of Tennessee and South Carolina. As you can see, the restoration is a definite success!
