The second-gen Chevrolet Colorado hit the showrooms in the USA seven years ago, with the powerful ZR2 version following two years later. The truck is now getting ready for a large-scale update, as evidenced by spy shots and this teaser video.
The clip reveals a redesigned front fascia with slim headlamps below deeply concave air intakes, a reinforced bumper, new taillights and a black ‘CHEVROLET’ badge on the tailgate. The interior follows suit with similar updates and new tech.
It is official that the next-gen Colorado ZR2 will be based on the GMT31XX-2 chassis. The current generation is available with a 3.6-liter petrol V6 and a 2.8-liter diesel engine. Rumor has it that the new one will additionally get a 2.7-liter turbo-four option rated at 314 PS (310 hp / 231 kW) and 569 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque.
We will learn more during the official premiere now scheduled for July 28, 2022.
