Attention, Racing Fans: Chevrolet announces Corvette Drivers Series

Chevrolet has announced a special edition of its Corvette sports car, called the Drivers Series. Corvette Racing team participated in conceptualizing and designing the vehicles. The batch only consists of four Grand Sport coupes, each of them dedicated to a victory claimed by the car marque at the WeatherTech SportCar Championship (IMSA).

All four vehicles wear custom styling kits designed by Corvette Racing drivers and even bear their respective name shields. Their interiors have also been styled individually from each other. On the other hand, all four come with the same glossy-black, red-trimmed wheels and brake supports.

You can tell Oliver Gavin’s supercar from the rest by its grey livery adorned with a single red pinstripe. The same gamma carries over into the cabin as well.

Tommy Milner’s Corvette sports a blue paintjob with occasional silvery stripes serving as accents. Inside, there are sports seats trimmed with leather and Alcantara.

Jan Magnussen’s Chevy stands out with its foam-white body interspersed with red accents. Finally, Antonio Garcia’s ride comes painted yellow with occasional elements lacquered black and red.

All four cars feature 19-inch wheels, fender flares, performance brakes, tuned suspension, improved engine cooling etc.

The limited edition comes driven by a 6.2-liter V8 engine rated at 466 hp (347 kW), which links to either a 7-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission, depending on your preference.

Sales begin in spring 2019. The limited series costs U.S. $5,000 above the regular Grand Sport 1LT/2LT and almost $6,000 above the 3LT.
