Genovation is starting sales of its GXE supercar based on the Chevrolet Corvette chassis. Just before the launch, the company succeeded in accelerating the sporty coupe to 338.28 km/h (210.2 mph), thus besting its own world record in the ‘fastest-going road-legal EV’ category.
Two years ago, when the development was just beginning, Genovation got the all-electric supercar going at 336.2 km/h (208.9 mph).
The GXE comes packing a powertrain rated above 800 hp (600 kW) and 950 Nm (700 pound-feet) of torque. A 60-kilowatt-hour traction battery gives it slightly more than 200 kilometers (125 miles) of range.
The production run consists of 75 cars priced at U.S. $750,000 each. First customers will be getting their electric Corvettes before the end of the year.
