RHD Corvette C8 teased on a photo

Chevrolet has released the first image showing the right-hand drive version of the C8 Corvette. By the look of it, the controls have simply been mirrored without any other changes.

This is the first time the Corvette is available in the right-hand drive modification straight from the factory. The company says switching to the mid-engine powertrain design and the eight-speed double-clutch automatic transmission as the only option enabled it to vary the steering column alignment freely.

Apparently, the effort was not in vain, as the company has sold more than 300+ vehicles in Japan within 60 hours from announcing pre-orders. The C7 Corvette used to sell under 100 units per year in that country.

The RHD Corvette C8 will also ship to Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand. Despite the production delays, the standard LHD version is expected to hit the showrooms in 2021, just as planned.
