Rare Saturn Sky roadster goes up on sale with a ‘Vette Z06 mill under the hood

Mallett Performance Cars, from North Carolina, is offering to buy this exclusive Saturn Sky roadster equipped with a particularly capable engine and improved suspension. Let’s give it some attention.

The Saturn Sky – which is also known as the Opel GT, Pontiac Solstice, and Daewoo G2X – had only been in production for three years before its discontinuation. The buyers struggled to see the point in its poor trim spec and 264 hp (197 kW) of engine power. The documents stated it could sprint 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 5.7 seconds, but even experienced drivers often spent at least 6.3 s launching it.

Mallett Performance efficiently deals with this particular flaw by swapping the old two-liter four-cylinder engine with a giant seven-liter mill of the C6 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The result is 437 hp (326 kW) alongside 573 Nm (423 lb-ft) of torque.

The exotic also now uses an improved six-speed manual transmission with LuK Pro Gold Performance coupling, as well as sportier suspension and a Corsa exhaust system. Snazzy chrome-coated wheels and tuner’s logos on the headrests round things off.
