This Lingenfelter Eliminator Spec R enjoys 250hp’ worth of non-turbo upgrades

The Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge will take place in October 2020, and Mike Rovere has solid chances of winning a prize or two with his custom-built Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

Lingenfelter gave the C6-gen sports car a substantial makeover, calling the result “Lingenfelter Eliminator Spec R”. The goal was to coax the most horsepower out of the stock General Motors LS7 V8 without introducing the naturally aspirated mill to forced induction. In its production form, the V8 delivers 505 hp (377 kW) and 640 Nm (472 lb-ft) to the wheels.

The tuner shop replaced the crankshaft, pistons and connecting rods with their lightweight forged counterparts. They also reworked the cylinder assembly and entrusted the pro-grade MSD Atomic Intake System with delivering fresh air to the engine. In the end, the team has managed to get it to over 752 hp (561 kW) and 857 Nm (632 lb-ft) of torque – a phenomenal result to achieve with a non-turbo engine.
