General Motors has applied for a new sub-brand in Australia: GMSV. In all likelihood, the automotive giant plans to export right-hand drive Chevrolet vehicles to the southern continent.
According to rumors, GM wants to bring its Silverado1500 LTZ and Silverado 2500 pickup trucks to Australia, as well as the Chevrolet Stingray supercar (watch the attached video for an overview). The latter will allegedly boast a 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine under the hood, linked to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. It will push up to 503 hp (375 kW) and 640 Nm (472 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels and accelerate as far as 312 km/h (194 mph).
No official confirmation exists for the above information so far. It would be logical for the GMSV brand to also incorporate the Camaro series, as well as the Tahoe and Suburban SUVs. Last but not least, Cadillac and GMC Hummer EVs may also make it to the Down Under in the future.
