AWE Tuning, an auto tune-up shop located in Philadelphia, has started sales of two straight-through exhaust systems for the Stingray version of the Chevrolet Corvette C8. Both units weigh less and perform better than the stock exhaust.
The Touring Edition drops the curb weight by 14 kilograms (31 lbs) and raises the output values by 19 hp (14 kW) and 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) of torque. The company claims all measurements were made at the wheels and therefore reflect actual performance gains.
The Track Edition may be too loud for road use in some legislations, but shaves 17.6 kg (39 lbs) off the weight of the sports car while delivering the same performance boost as the Touring Edition mentioned above.
Both systems ship with optional heat shields made of aluminum and Black Diamond dual-layer nozzles. Prices start from $1,999 for the racer variant and $2,795 for the road option.
