For nine months now, the best minds of the car tuning scene have been trying to defeat the tampering protection on the ECU of the Chevrolet C8 Corvette. Replacement turbos are a bad idea without an ECU remap to go with them – but it seems like ProCharger has found a solution.
The U.S.-based tuner swaps the turbos out for a supercharger, raising the engine output from 495 to beyond 700 horsepower. In the video published, the sporty ride does a burnout and zaps towards the horizon, mixing engine growl with supercharger whine. The company claims everything can be installed without any in-depth modifications to the vehicle.
While it is still too early for pre-orders, we are glad to see that the new ‘Vette can be performance-tuned, after all.
