Florida-based Complete Street Performance couldn’t get enough of this C6 ‘Vette Z06 power, not even when the induction pressure rose to 26 psi and something went kaboom.
It is reported that a single hi-end turbo kit was used instead of dual turbos. Lower pressures went smoothly, and the output rose to an epic 1,374 PS (1,356 hp / 1,010 kW) and 1,351 Nm (997 lb-ft) of torque upon reaching 26 psi. Moments later, an ear-shattering explosion was heard, followed by a fireball erupting from the right side of the front bumper.
The fire was quickly extinguished. At first, it had seemed as though the engine was toast, but it was ultimately revealed that the explosion occurred in the OEM intake manifold, which simply ceased to cope with the pressure. Fuel injectors were torn out soon afterwards, and internal combustion evolved into a rather more external one. CSP made repairs in the fuel system and thoroughly cleaned out the engine, and the Z06 was ready to rumble once again.
