Australian car magazine Wheels has published an article about special editions coming for the C8 Corvette. The author claims that Chevrolet is working on as many as four of these, including E-Ray, ZR1, Zora, and Z06. The latter is revealed in detail.
According to Wheels, the next-gen Z06 will be coming to the market soon armed with the world’s most powerful 4.2-liter naturally aspirated Blackwing V8. A flat crank will enable the mill to rev up to 9,000 RPM and churn out 617 HP (460 kW). The standard eight-speed automatic transmission will be recalibrated to work with this extreme engine.
As the spy shots available so far evidence, the car will have wide tires, improved suspension and exhaust system, and a standard electronic differential for better torque management. Naturally, an aggressive aerodynamic package is also high on the list.
