The latest spy video shows precious little of the new Corvette Z06, but more than makes up for it with an amazing V8 soundtrack.
The driver keeps braking during the test drive and then flooring the pedal again, prompting the engine to squeal and screech revving up to top RPM counts. Be sure to watch the entire three-minute video, it is seriously amazing!
The sound tonality is quite high and reminiscent of that of European supercars using a flat crankshaft. Note also the screeching of the tires whenever the second gear kicks in.
According to rumors, the Z06 will hit the market armed with a 5.5-liter C8.R V8 engine adapted from a racecar. It will allegedly feature a double overhead camshaft and a flat crank. The output may surpass 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW).
Chances are Chevrolet will unveil the new Z06 in detail on July 18, 2021.
