Lingenfelter to remind us about the Corvette that won Le Mans 60 years ago

Back in the distant year 1960, entrepreneur and racing enthusiast Briggs Cunningham was the first to take the newborn Chevrolet Corvette to the 24 Hours of Le Mans – and not just one, but three. Two crashed out of the competition, but John Fitch and Bob Grossman piloted their ‘Vette to victory. Now, Lingenfelter wants to celebrate that achievement.

The American tuner will be taking 60 C8 Corvettes and endowing each with a special aero kit, a white livery with blue stripes down the middle, and a power boost. The number 3 on the rear wing of the first finished example shown here pays homage to the number of the Le-Mans-winning Corvette. Retro-themed five-spoke rims manufactured by HRE will occupy the arches, and the cabin will be born anew in a black leather trim with light blue accents.

Technical improvements will include a front suspension lowering kit, Alcon/RB brake system overhaul, and upmarket intake and exhaust components. The tuned sports car will produce 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW).

If you would like to own a Lingenfelter Cunningham 60th Anniversary Corvette, set aside $160,000 USD.
