This Chevy C8 Corvette extensively tuned by Extreme Turbo Systems managed to cover a quarter-mile strip in 9.05 seconds last week, hitting the best time in its class.
The modifications included dual turbos, improved fuel system, a water-to-air intercooler, a new intake manifold, and an auxiliary ECU to assist the main unit. As you probably have heard, strong ECU encryption currently prevents C8 Corvette owners from tuning their engines in conventional ways, forcing them to look for workaround solutions.
On a quarter-mile strip, the sports car hit the finish line 9.05 seconds after the launch, and reached a top speed of 255.8 km/h (159 mph) as it did so. It also dethroned the previous record of 9.36 seconds held by Emelia Hartford.
