Zagato selling the first Iso Rivolta continuation coupe

In summer 2020, Zagato announced the comeback of the Iso Revolta brand with the coupe named the GTZ (Gran Turismo Zagato), which was inspired by the 1963 Iso Rivolta A3/L. The first car is now complete and available to buy for $1,350,000 USD.

Back in the time, the automaker Iso became famous thanks to its subcompact urban car Isetta and sports car Grifo A3/L. Despite this, the Aston Martin tuner decided to resurrect the Iso Rivolta A3/L first. Norihiko Harada, Zagato's Design Director, points out that the exterior of the Rivolta prototype racer gave inspiration to numerous other iconic vehicles, such as the Lamborghini Miura.

To commemorate the icon, the company will be producing 19 such vehicles based on the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Targa. Each car will get new bodywork along with a 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 V8 (earlier plans mentioned a 6.8-liter engine, but the company changed its mind).

Elsewhere, the GTZ flaunts a laconically styled carbon-fiber body with plenty of classic traits. The Z06 engine gives it 660 PS (651 hp / 485 kW) and 881 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque from the get-go, but interested customers may request a boost to 750 PS (740 hp / 552 kW).

The first car took around two years to complete and won the contest in its own category at the Monterey Car Week. It currently only has 100 miles (160 km) on the odometer.
