The international launch of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is set on October 26, 2021, but the manufacturer wants us to know what the mid-engined sports car looks like in advance.
Earlier spy photos showed the new Z06 with a massive rear wing, which is notably absent from the official image. As such, it is most likely an optional piece.
Rumor has it the Z06 comes powered by a 5.5-liter V8 adapted from the C8.R racecar. Chevrolet posted an image earlier showing the two cars sitting next to each other. The engine will likely churn out around 625 PS (616 hp / 460 kW) and use a Tremec transmission to drive the wheels.
Elsewhere, the Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 features a new front fascia, wheels, air intakes, quarterpanels and side sills. The rear end remains to be revealed, but spy shots suggest a redesigned bumper and aerodynamic elements there.
