Bobby Carson, 95, World War II veteran, picked up his shiny new Corvette a mere month after placing the order, a trifle compared to a few years most others will have to wait.
The car is the 42th MY2022 example produced and Carson’s eighth Corvette in life. Chevrolet reasoned that every minute played a crucial role for a person aged 95, and decided to deliver the car out of turn. It arranged a festive ceremony in the Chevrolet Corvette National Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Carson pointed out that he drove seven other Corvettes in his life. He was aware of the hype surrounding the new generation and thought it was an honor to get one out of turn. He now intends to drive the C8 daily and sell his current car.
Chevrolet acted even more charitably last fall, when veteran Clint Johnson, 104, asked the company for an opportunity to buy a new Sonic, and the dealership gave one away as a gift.
