New Chevrolet Corvette Z06 flashes cabin in an official video

A recent video from Chevrolet finally reveals the interior of the C8-gen Corvette Z06, complete with a digital dash and a red tachometer hand pointing at 8,600 RPM. Smart folks already did the math and found that the teaser was posted exactly 8,600 minutes ahead of the official reveal of the car on October 26, 2021.

Why is it exciting? Largely because the standard Corvette maxes out at 6,500 revolutions per minute. It would therefore seem that the new Z06 might ship with a long-rumored 5.5-liter V8 rated at 626 PS (617 hp / 460 kW) and 651 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque. The standard version is around 130 hp (100 kW) less powerful.

Also shown in the teaser are quad tailpipes sitting in the middle of the rear bumper. Inside, there is also a new carbon-trimmed steering wheel and new seats with integrated headrests and enhanced lateral support.

Finally, an open-topped modification of the Z06 makes an entrance towards the end of the video. The standard Corvette waited several months for its convertible variant to debut, but Chevrolet might as well reveal the Z06 Cabriolet simultaneously with the coupe. We will find out in just five days, so stay tuned!
