This 1,800-HP Chevy Corvette Z06 is more missile than sports car

At the time of launch, the seventh-gen Chevrolet Corvette Z06 had about as much power as one could hope for, slamming the wheels with 659 PS (650 hp / 485 kW) and 881 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque. This one has had some tuning performed on it – more like all of it and then some, honestly – and will leave any stock car for standing.

Gone is the stock 6.2-liter supercharged V8, replaced with a seven-liter single-turbo V8. Thanks to numerous performance components including a 94mm Precision turbo, forged pistons, aftermarket connecting rods, a Wavetrack differential, better fuel injection and revised software, the drivetrain churns out between 1,200 and 1,400 horsepower (895 – 1,044 kW) on regular high-octane gas. You can switch between different performance modes, and pouring racing fuel in the tank maxes the build out at around 1,800 hp (1,342 kW).

As one would expect, the rear-wheel-drive monstrosity is unmatched at the drag strip. As formidable as it is on prepared tarmac, though, we are actually more scared to see it driven on public roads.
