1 of 19 Iso Rivolta GT Zagato heading to auction again

Milan-based coachbuilder Zagato and the heirs of Renzo Rivolta produced nineteen Iso Rivolta GT Zagato supercars, one of which went on sale this fall with an asking price of $1.35 million USD and apparently failed to sell. It will be available for bidding again in January.

The car in question is the only example legally sold in the United States. It features extended taillights, different wheels and a Le-Mans Red finish. The odometer shows 272 km (169 miles) of use.

The supercar was unveiled last summer and won the Concours d’Elegance prize in its category at the Monterey Car Week 2021.

From the historical point of view, the coupe represents a successor of sorts to the classic Iso Grifo A3/C model designed by Rivolta and Giotto Bizzarrini. That car had plenty of racing successes back in its time and even won the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1964 and 1965 in its competition class.

Down at the core, the new Iso Rivolta GT Zagato is a C7-gen Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with all-new composite bodywork. As a result, it weighs in at just 1.2 metric tons (2,650 lbs). It also features Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, a bespoke cabin, and a larger trunk than the car it is based upon.

A 6.2-liter LT4 V8 under the hood uses a supercharger to drive the wheels with its standard 660 PS (651 hp / 485 kW) through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
