Check out the Brillanté, a ‘Vette disguised as the Testarossa

A 33-year-old Chevrolet Corvette doing a reasonable Ferrari Testarossa impression went on sale a few days ago. The sale amount was not disclosed, but the odd car warrants some interest to it for the mods alone.

The buyer of the convertible had it modified by Classic International, complete with a new body and cabin. The nose and the tail were completely redesigned along with the doors, the side sills and the wheel arches. The body received a red paint and 17-inch custom wheels to ride on. Special attention was paid to the suspension, which ended up with Monroe Formula GP shocks, different springs and a camber adjustment kit.

Interior highlights include a Momo steering wheel, a disc player plugged into a six-channel audio system, leather trim all around, and wood accents.

A 5.7-liter Chevy V8 under the hood received forged pistons and driveshaft, new cylinder heads, a better manifold and larger injectors, among other mods. Back in its time, it hit a four-speed transmission and torque converter with 370 PS (365 hp / 272 kW) and 583 Nm (430 lb-ft) of torque.

The work cost the client $37,000 back at the time.
