1958 Chevy Corvette restomod on C7 chassis can be yours for a price

A bespoke Chevrolet Corvette with Gen.1 looks, an upgraded Gen.7 chassis and lots of restomods is heading to an auction without reserve later this month. Fast & Furious Actor Kevin Hart shelled out $825,000 for a similar restored classic last March.

Art Morrison put the venerable body of the ‘Vette on a C7 chassis upgraded with height-adjustable springs and dampers. It also received a unique set of EVOD wheels shod in vintage-style Nitto tires and Wilwood brakes all around with six-piston calipers at the front axle.

Powering the ride is a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 by General Motors, which pairs up with a four-speed automatic gearbox to send 460 PS (454 hp / 338 kW) and 630 Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque.

The restorer claims only OEM bodywork from the late 1950s was used in the project, along with a restored version of the original drop top. The cabin also appears authentic at the first glance, but the seats are new, and so is the audio system comprising Focal speakers, a subwoofer and a JL amp. Like the rest, it has been masked with some retro fit and finish.

The car has covered barely over 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) since restoration.
