The first production unit of the new Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 just found a collector who paid $3,600,000 for it.
Unsurprisingly, the buyer was none other than Rick Hendrick, founder of Hendrick Companies. He bought the VIN #001 Corvette Stingray at an auction in 2020, too, paying just $600,000 less than he did this weekend.
Chevrolet will redirect all the proceeds to a war veteran support foundation.
The first Corvette C8 Z06 makes 670 PS (661 hp / 493 kW) and comes upgraded with special options celebrating 70 years of the model. These include unique wheels, special badging, a cabin wrapped in leather and Alcantara, and a set of travel bags, among other things.
