Check out a supercar dreamed into life by ex-Zagato designer

A lesser-known supercar named Spada Codatronca TS is up for haggling in Italy right now (no set price). Ercole Spada and his son Paolo built what could be the world’s only ride of its kind 14 years ago based on the C6 Corvette Z06 chassis.

The Codatronica TS sports an all-carbon body with a unique rear end featuring a towering ‘keel’ add-on above the trunk area. The V8 under the hood enjoys a boost from its stock 512 PS (505 hp / 377 kW) to 639 PS (630 hp / 470 kW). The torque goes from 637 Nm (470 lb-ft) to 668 Nm (493 lb-ft), and a six-speed manual transmission carries it to the wheels. Sprinting to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 3.4 seconds, and the top speed lies as high up as 340 km/h (211 mph).

Ercole Spada has a professional background spanning quite a few automotive companies, notably including Zagato and BMW. He participated in designing the E32 7-Series and the E34 5-Series, among other things.

The father and son had planned to bring the concept into small-scale production along with their other model, a roadster called Codatronca Monza. The production never started, however, and everything indicates that this Codatronica was the only model ever built.

A look at the odometer reveals the drivetrain has slightly over 5,000 km (3,100 miles) on it.
