Chevy C6 Corvette travels four decades and generations into the past

Restoring classic sports cars can be an expensive hobby, but you can always take a modern one and style it up with a vintage body kit. Karl’s Kustoms did that and much more with this 2008 Chevrolet Corvette.

The sixth-gen coupe received a set of body parts designed to make it look just like the exotic C2 ‘Vette from the distant year 1967. Front arches, bumper and hood are our personal favorites here: the semblance is almost perfect.

Considerably less perfect are the sides and the rear end, where swollen C6 proportions become immediately apparent. On the upside, though, the whole is nicely rounded off by a beautiful light blue paint with a white stripe down the middle and chrome accents all around.

Power for the build comes from a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 tuned by Lingenfelter to be capable of 1,000 horsepower and more. We say “capable” because, although the supercharger is there, the actual power and torque numbers are not stated anywhere. What we do know is that the car has a touch under 28,300 km (17,600 miles) on the odometer.

Motor Car Group is selling the retromod right now, but you will have to contact them to find out the price.
