The 2011 Chevy Corvette Z06 Carbon Edition hit the scene with a beefy V8 and a host of ZR1 performance parts, including upgraded suspension, a carbon fiber aero kit, and other things that made it the perfect weapon for the latest Texas Mile race.

We are not aware of the specific mods this ‘Vette has undergone, but it somehow managed to accelerate to a dizzying finish speed of 390.6 kilometers per hour, or 242.7 mph.

On the outside, the tuned Z06 boasts some extra aerodynamic bits on the rear end and a brake chute, which immediately tells you it means business.

In its stock form, the Z06 Carbon Edition comes equipped with a seven-liter, naturally aspirated LS7 V8 engine capable of 511 PS (504 hp / 376 kW) and 637 Nm (470 lb-ft) of torque. It needs less than four seconds to launch to 60 mph (97 km/h) and normally maxes out at 197 mph (318 km/h).
