One may call the Chevrolet C8 Corvette a cheap ticket into the supercar world: while not exactly cheap, it still offers loads of performance for a little over $60,000. Well, Sigala Designs slapped some mods on it and put the result up for sale for $180,000.
What do you get for the eye-watering markup? A power boost, a particularly deluxe interior makeover and improved racing performance – you get none of these. Instead, there is a rather over-the-top carbon fiber body kit consisting of as many as 32 components. There is a boldly protruding front splitter, a rather flashy black and red rear diffuser, bumper extensions at both ends, fender flares and a host of other, smaller parts.
Also included in the deal are two-piece forged wheels sized 20 inches across at the front and 21 inches across in the back. Rounding off the list of modifications are an in-house designed stainless-steel exhaust system and height-adjustable suspension.
What surprises us the most is that Sigala lists the full carbon-fiber body kit for just under $25,000, while its GFRP variant goes for $15,000. What else does it do to warrant the frankly ridiculous price tag?
Many commenters were quick to accuse Sigala of stealership practices, and quite a few have pointed out the controversial styling of the aero parts. In response, the tuner de-listed the car, claiming someone bought it for $180,000.
