A single glance at the technical specifications of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is enough to know that the sports car is a formidable track weapon. Still, paper specs can never convey the joy of driving the way this video filmed at Laguna Seca Raceway does.
YouTuber Speed Phenom was lucky enough to sit in the passenger’s seat as professional racecar driver Ron Fellows put the Z06 through its courses. In the first part of the video, the host presents a brief overview of the car, pointing out that it rides on carbon-fiber wheels shod in track-happy Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires. He also goes on to demonstrate the various operation modes of the exhaust system.
Driving starts from 7 minutes 36 seconds in. The sports car produces an awesome symphony of sounds, its engine screaming at higher revs and exhaust system popping whenever the driver switches down.
In accordance with an NDA signed with Chevrolet, the participants of the video are prohibited from sharing their impressions of the ride. Still, a single look at their smiling, contended faces as they get out of the car tells us everything we need to know about the Z06.
