Check out a ’59 Chevy Corvette with a 7.0-liter racing engine

This 1959 Chevrolet Corvette roadster will cross the auction block in late January 2023. The restomod has a starkly modified body and a beefy seven-liter racing engine under the hood. Let’s see what else it brings to the table.

The base car is a first-generation Corvette carried over to a new chassis and given a longer, wider and less tall body shape. The exterior is finished in gloss black, transverse braces and a roll bar help keep things rigid and stable, and the suspension is of a four-link design. Forgeline wheels fill out the arches, and the windshield is about as small as it can get while still making a difference.

Power for the Restomod comes from a 7.0-liter LS7 V8 mill. The exact output is unspecified, but we would be surprised if it were smaller than the OEM-rated 512 PS (505 hp / 377 kW). A six-speed automatic transmission drives the wheels, a sports exhaust system helps with the soundtrack, and Wilwood brakes all around ensure adequate deceleration.
