A recent bunch of spy photos show a car looking nearly identical to the standard Chevrolet Corvette, but the media tend to agree it’s actually the E-Ray version we were promised a while ago.
The lack of camo can be explained by the fact that Chevrolet inadvertently leaked images of the sports car through its Configurator applet due to an error. If you look closer, you will see that the car shown here is wider than the standard Stingray and has a new air vent layout.
We could assume that it is a Z06, but that model always has its exhaust tips grouped tightly in the middle, while the one shown here has tailpipes installed along the sides.
All of the above makes us suspect that this is indeed the E-Ray Hybrid, which is rumored to be coming with a 6.2-liter V8 rated at 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW) and a front-mounted electric motor contributing another 101 PS (100 hp / 75 kW). Judging by the evident lack of the charging port door, it is going to be a mild hybrid.
