63-year-old Chevrolet Corvette heading to auction next month

Barrett-Jackson will be putting up this jet-black 1959 Chevrolet Corvette restomod for sale in January. The car was fully restored and modernized by Hod Rod Service.

The project car runs on a custom, hand-built, stretched and widened chassis featuring extra braces for rigidity, custom bodywork mounting points and support for an internal roll cage. The suspension is also completely new and based on Accuair components, which means you can adjust the ride height automatically with millimeter precision. The brakes all around use six-piston calipers.

Power originates in a Chevy LS7 crate engine retrofitted with a new camshaft, a Kinsler carbon-fiber intake, improved cooling and other aftermarket upgrades. A six-speed automatic transmission delivers the torque to the wheels, but the listing neglects to mention any specific numbers.

Inside, the entire front panel is new, there are new dash gauges, a GFRP center console and an Alpine audio system. The driver gets a start-stop button, an emergency brake, a Momo steering wheel with paddle shifters and a Vintage Air conditioner.

The asking price has not been announced.
