Hurricane Ian, which struck the coast of Florida in September 2022 (see video), cost the state $113 billion, ruining many vintage cars among all other kinds of property. The Drive has found a listing on Copart dedicated to some of the Chevrolet Corvettes recovered from the raging element.
The list begins with a 1956 example finished in red and white with its soft top torn into shreds, missing hood and trunk covers, and exposed engine bay and cabin.
Then there is a nearly completely destroyed 1965 ‘Vette with its nose partially torn off, missing driver’s door and a battered body literally without a single intact panel. We are skeptical regarding the restoration prospects of this one, but secretly hope someone still finds at least some use for this beautiful classic.
A 1959 example and two 1966 models survived much better and actually look salvageable on the photos. This is more than can be said about a 1995MY Corvette sporting a reasonably well-preserved body along with a completely destroyed cabin and drivetrain.
