Many will agree that the Corvette Z06 is on par with supercars, but just how ‘on par’? Won’t the dreaded McLaren 765LT be too much for it to handle? Edmunds Cars provides the answer.
The YouTuber compares the two vehicles in a number of ways, including some less common ones. There’s a quarter-mile race, a brake test, a handling test and more. Once the main part is over, the drivers switch lanes with each other for fairness reasons.
Both vehicles are serious performers, but the McLaren 765LT inches out a considerable advantage with its 765 PS (755 hp / 563 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. The Chevy Corvette Z06 lags behind with 670 PS (661 hp / 493 kW) and 623 Nm (460 lb-ft).
To compensate, the car makes use of the complete Z07 package of upgrades, including better suspension, a large rear wing, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes and Michelin Sport Cup 2 R ZP tires.
