A video starring an older Chevrolet Corvette has cropped up online and gone viral, but for no good reason: the car dropped from the truck it was transported in, apparently rolling over the wheel block installed too far from the wheels.
The scope of damage is visible straight away: one of the body panels cracked and the front bumper fell apart after the impact. It seems likely that the internals were damaged, too, although the video doesn’t reveal as much. If the frame was broken, that would mean an instant write-off.
It remains unclear why the operator didn’t pull the parking brake at once. Perhaps he didn’t have the time or was confused at the moment.
Making things look worse is a sticker on the left side of the windshield. Considered together with the exterior paint tone and the interior trim, it lets us conclude that this is the same car that was sold at a Bring-a-Trailer auction in late February for a cool $111,000. The way it looks, the incident happened when it was delivered to its new owner.
