Tuning specialist Callaway has announced a complex upgrade for the Chevrolet Corvette C8 that lets the mid-engined sports car to sprint 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in as little as 2.67 seconds.
The main novelty comes in the form of a supercharger that drives the stock V8 to 687 PS (678 hp / 505 kW) and 872 Nm (643 lb-ft) of torque. Technical details are scarce, but drivers will know to appreciate the fact that the OEM warranty stays intact. Furthermore, Callaway bundles the tuning with 3 years of its own warranty, extendable to 5 years.
Aside from the above, the tuning company’s German office has prepared an aero kit for the C8 ‘Vette composed of 10 parts. There are flared fenders all around, a front spoiler with side winglets, side sill extensions, a rear wing and a couple of shark-fin-shaped side trims. Interestingly, the rear diffuser appears stock.
The supercharger package will become available in a few weeks from U.S. $20,000, but there’s a catch: it will not be sold as a DIY kit for installation at your nearest service. Right now, Callaway only has sites in California and Connecticut where you can have your car upgraded like this, and we are talking one location per state.
