Robert Downey Jr. to raffle off his restomod collection

Robert Downey Jr. will be holding six lotteries from Feb. 9 to July 31, 2024 that will see six restored and modified cars from his TV show, Downey’s Dream Cars, find new owners.

To participate, all you need is submit a free application – no ticket required. That said, those donating money to the lottery’s partner fund will increase the odds of your application being picked, so the whole thing is still skewed towards the well-off among us.

For example, donating just $10 to the fund specified by Downey Jr. will ramp up the number of applications submitted by you from 1 to 10. Donating $500 will give you 625 applications, and parting with $5,000 will net you 8,500 ‘virtual tickets’, vastly increasing the winning odds.

The vehicles participating in the lottery are a 1965 Chevrolet Corvette, a 1972 K10 Pickup, a 1985 El Camino, a 1966 Buick Riviera, a 1969 Mercedes 280Se, and a 1972 Volkswagen Bus. All come with their own accessories.

The star actor evaluates his prize fund in $1,133,470 total, since each vehicle costs around $100,000 or $200,000. Only adult participants from the USA, Canada and UK are admitted.
