Chevrolet provides acceleration data on the next Corvette ZR1

Dynamic performance of the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 supercar is no longer a mystery. According to Harlan Charles, spokesman for the company, the vehicle only needs slightly more than 2.85 seconds to get going at 100 km/h (62 mph).

He went on to say that the new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 reaches the 160 km/h (100 mph) mark in six seconds and completes a quarter-mile drag race streak in 10.6 seconds. Its top-going speed is manufacturer-capped at 338 km/h (210 mph).

To achieve these spectacular results, the car comes equipped by a no-nonsense 6.2-liter V8 engine with 765 hp (750 kW) at its disposal.

The updated Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 sports a body made of carbon, active suspension and sport-grade tires, among other things.
