Texas-based tuner Hennessey Performance has just released its H700 upgrade package for the C8 Corvette Stingray convertible and decided to compare it on the track against the Cybertruck. It took care to pick one that was both much heavier and less powerful than the ‘Vette, though.
Specifically, the tune-up lets the C8 droptop send 718 PS (708 hp / 528 kW) and 865 Nm (638 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. This is a massive improvement over the stock 497 PS (490 hp / 365 kW) and 630 Nm (465 lb-ft). The car seen here also boasts a custom livery, 19-inch aftermarket wheels and an active-valve exhaust system.
Opposing it on the track is a Tesla Cybertruck, but not the three-motor Cyberbeast with 857 PS (845 hp / 630 kW) heading for the wheels. Instead, it’s a simpler dual-motor version maxing out at 608 PS (600 hp / 447 kW). It doesn’t help that the truck weighs three metric tons (6,600 lbs) while the ‘Vette is barely above a half of that. As biased as the race is, predicting the outcome isn’t hard.
Back to the Hennessey H700 package, though. It is already available for ordering. The price isn’t specified, but its coupe counterpart cost from $34,950 to $49,950 depending on options.
