Police find $3M worth of stolen cars in a barn in Canada

The law enforcement officers of Ontario, Canada have reported a major success in a car theft case that had taken several months to investigate. The evidence led the police to a barn containing 16 vehicles previously reported as stolen, including multiple rare and valuable examples. Global News says the find is evaluated at U.S. $3,000,000.

The first stolen car report tied to this case came in in late 2023. There haven’t been any clarifications as to whether all 16 cars were stolen from one collector or procured from all around the country. The detailed list of models isn’t available yet, either. Still, the images released thus far evidence that there are classic Chevy Corvettes in the mix along with some Ford old-timers, both stock and modified. All look rather dusty but otherwise in decent condition.

Two suspects have been reported as arrested in connection with the case. They were presented with charges ranging from grand theft auto to using fake IDs. It’s also reported that the persons detained were taken to court on similar charges as far back as 2003, but got away with fines that time around.

The investigation is still ongoing.
