A Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 supercar has been officially designated for the position of a pace car at the famous annual race Indianapolis 500.
To comply with the racing regulations, this particular Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 was outfitted with the ZTK Performance package for better suspension and rotatable rear wing. It also received some additional lights and an appropriate livery.
In addition to the above, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Indy 500 pace car features performance brakes, 19” and 20” wheels clad in Michelin performance tires, and an array of photo and video equipment.
The hood compartment of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 conceals a 6.2-liter V8 engine capable of 765 hp (570 kW) and 968 Nm (714 lb·ft) of torque. The car accelerates 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in mere 2.85 seconds and doesn’t hit the speed ceiling until 341 km/h (212 mph).
