Yenko is a vintage muscle car brand that used to be popular in the 1960s. The trademark was purchased by the tuning atelier Specialty Vehicle Engineering a while ago. The atelier has now launched U.S. sales of another nostalgic vehicle, titled the Yenko Corvette.
The engine compartment of the muscle car received a 6.8-liter V8 supercharged engine. The Stage I variant produces 846 hp (526 kW), while the Stage II brings the performance further up to 1,014 hp (630 kW). The maximum torque varies between 1,044 and 1,152 Nm (770 – 850 lb·ft). The engine is essentially an upgraded GM V8 6.2 with modern parts and more displacement room.
Specialty Vehicle Engineering offers the vehicle in 10 colors. The sporty-looking stripes on its sides, roof and hood cover 9 colors are available in 9 colors. Upon special request, the wheels can also be painted to match the stripes.
The vehicle immediately draws attention to its body kit with a larger splitter and an adjustable rear wing.
The company plans to produce a total of 50 such cars – 25 Yenko Corvette Stage I and 25 Stage II. The pricing model is simple: the base vehicle is the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, which costs U.S. $66,500, and the upgrade can be U.S. $69,000 - $78,000.
