The widely popular Chevrolet Cruze sedan is only going to be shipped with automatic transmission from now on, manual gearbox cars slowly becoming history. This is stated in the official press release by General Motors.
Chevrolet Cruze L, Cruze LS, Cruze LT, Cruze Premier, and Cruze Diesel will all switch to automatic soon. Industry professionals say it’s likely to be the 6-speed version.
New Chevrolet Cruze cars will come with a choice of engines including the old 1.4 gasoline motor and the 1.6-liter diesel, as well as a new 160-horsepower V4 gasoline engine and a 1.4-liter natural gas unit.
There is abundant speculation concerning far-reaching consequences of this decision. Many professionals expect Chevrolet Cruze to “dump” a large portion of its current fanbase alongside with the manual gearshift. Time will tell how much of it, if any, is true.
