Elderly Chevrolet El Camino restomod will set you back nearly $137k

Garage Kept Motors is selling a refurbished 1959 Chevrolet El Camino with a modern crate engine and an overhauled interior. The asking price of $136,900 looks rather steep when you consider that a new Mercedes-Benz S-Class can be purchased from $114,500.

The production of the El Camino model started in 1959, meaning this was one of the first examples made. The restoration saw its exterior reverted to the original black color and its interior trimmed with red leather. The example on sale also has a wood-lined truck bed.

A custom 5.7-liter V8 under the hood works in tandem with an automatic transmission. The listing doesn’t mention any output figures. It also has power disc brakes and rides on US Mag wheels sized 18” at the front and 20” at the back. Inside, the seats are heated, there is a modern climate control system on board and power windows all around. Hydraulic power steering with an adjustable column should make daily driving easy.

With barely over 600 km (375 miles) under its belt since restoration, the El Camino is apparently in top-notch condition, which may explain the price.
