The latest patent images submitted for registration by GM SAIC China suggest that Chevrolet might be interested in launching a hybrid variant of its Equinox SUV soon.
The car looks much like its ICE counterpart and the Chevy Bolt. There is still no launch date, but seeing how eager leading car manufacturers are to invade the EV market and how utility vehicles are replacing the conventional sedans and hatchbacks worldwide, General Motors will probably launch it soon enough.
Customers in China are quite interested in all-electric cars and SUVs. Furthermore, General Motors and Chevrolet have a close partnership running with SAIC, and the latter plans to expand its SUV lineup soon. Overall, it looks like the new Equinox Hybrid could be right around the corner.
